Context

A great product nobody could find.

The client launched a pet e-commerce store with quality products, competitive pricing, and a clean website. But six months after launch, organic search was flatlined. Zero clicks. Zero impressions for commercial keywords. The entire customer acquisition budget was going to paid ads.

The core problem was structural. No keyword strategy. No content architecture. Product pages that search engines couldn’t understand. A blog that existed but had no connection to the products it was supposed to sell.

Approach

What we did.

Three phases. Each building on the last. Nothing fancy — fundamentals executed properly.

Technical Foundation

Fixed indexation issues, canonicals, and crawl budget. Added Product and Review schema. Built clean URL structure. Set up proper GA4 and GSC tracking. Made sure Google could actually read the site.

Content Architecture

Built topic clusters around buyer intent: product-category silos, comparison guides, and a review strategy targeting high-intent commercial queries. Every page had a conversion path to a product or category.

Internal linking structure connecting blog content to product pages. Strategic outreach to pet industry publications. Built topical authority that made Google trust the domain for pet-related commercial queries.

Timeline

How it unfolded.

Month 1 — Audit & Foundation

Full technical audit. Fixed 47 indexation errors. Restructured URL hierarchy. Implemented schema markup across all product pages. Set up tracking baseline.

Month 2 — Content Strategy Deployed

Published 12 buying guides targeting comparison keywords. Built product-category silos. Rewrote all category page content with unique descriptions and internal links.

Month 3 — First Rankings Appear

Pages started ranking on page 2-3 for mid-volume commercial keywords. Organic clicks went from 0 to ~2K/month. Leading indicators confirmed the strategy was working.

Month 4 — Page 1 Breakthrough
